PET and PET/CT

What is a PET Scan?

Positive Emission Tomography (PET scanning) is a highly advanced diagnostic tool used to diagnose a variety of diseases, most commonly cancer.   For maximum  value, a PET scan is now most often performed in conjunction with CT scans.  Our Board Certified radiologists provide the supervision and interpretation of PET scans and PET/CT scans performed at the new PET/CT Scanner at the Rideout Cancer Center.
